We promised you a new version of our BOLT How-To pages and they are now available!

You can access the new IMDC Infobase at https://bloomuimdc.freshdesk.com. Or, if you're in BOLT, click Help and then click BOLT How-To.

You can search for topics, look at related articles, download our step by step tutorials, and watch our YouTube videos directly on the topic pages.

BOLT TIP: No confirmation needed when starting or submitting quizzes!

Easier Quiz Start and Quiz Submit in BOLT

You no longer need to confirm starting or submitting your quizzes in BOLT!

Clicking Start Quiz begins your quiz.
Clicking Submit Quiz submits your quiz.

This is a change as you used to have to confirm starting or submitting your quiz on a secondary screen.

Daylight Dawns August 17th

We are flipping the switch to Daylight on August 17th. 

The Daylight Experience is coming to BOLT to bring a new, modern, responsive design to BOLT. BOLT will display better on mobile devices and will have other user experience improvements, including a new My Courses widget.

Online Rooms No More

The Online Rooms tool will not be available after tomorrow. Your instructor may choose to use other tools we have available to hold online class meetings: Collaborate: Ultra, Virtual Classroom, and Zoom.

Changes Coming to BOLT May 19

There will be two significant changes to BOLT on May 19, 2017. A new navigation scheme will be in place, and online rooms will be phased out.

No, not Daylight Savings Time.

Daylight is the new look and feel coming to BOLT. It is a modern, responsive design to improve user experience in BOLT and emphasize your course Content.

Secure Quizzing Tips in BOLT

Secure Quizzing Tips for Examity and Respondus Tools

• Keep your software updated.
  This includes browsers, plugins, operating system updates, and application updates.
• Disable Firewalls and Antivirus Software.
  You may need to disable your firewall software or antivirus software to take your secure quiz. Some of these software suites will interfere with secure quizzing protocols.
• Keep LockDown Browser updated.
  You can check your version by clicking on "About" or "i" in the toolbar. Update whenever possible to use the latest software.
• Keep your Flash PPAPI plugin updated.
  Respondus Monitor requires this specific plugin and it must be up to date.
• Do a system and webcam check in LockDown Browser in the Help Center.
  Do this prior to taking a quiz. To access Help Center, launch LockDown Browser from your desktop, login to BOLT, navigate to a course, and click on "Help Center" in the toolbar.
• Stay on schedule for Examity.
  Make sure to register with Examity early, and schedule your exam ahead of your exam date. You will have a clear window of time to complete this in order to take your exam.

Language Improvements On the Way in May

Language changes to update and improve user experience in BOLT are coming our way May 20, 2016.

If you are taking courses at the beginning of the Summer (May 16), old terms will be present until the end of the first week of classes. The changes will occur on May 20, 2016.

After in-depth testing and analysis, Brightspace identified key terminology to update and improve the user experience within BOLT. Updates will be display only; the tools will continue to function exactly the same as they do now.

Based on the results of the testing, the terms changing in BOLT for students are:

• News to Announcements
• Dropbox to Assignments

Again, please note these are language term changes and that functionality will remain the same.
